Step aside, Jeff Probst. There’s a new man in town! Alan Ritchson, the actor famous for his roles in Reacher, Blue Mountain State, and Titans, is developing a new series featuring alums from Survivor and other survival-based competition shows. The concept is based on a game we’ve all played, and the cash prizes are astronomical.
Survivor stars and other famous faces will compete on the new reality TV show
Alan has teamed up with Bunim/Murray to develop a series called Predator vs. Prey. At first glance, that title makes it sound like it’s going to be about a killer alien. However, in an announcement from Variety, it’s explained that this show will play out like a giant game of hide and seek.
Alan will bring together 15 stars from survival competition shows like Survivor, Naked & Afraid, Alone, and Outlast. They’ll be dropped into a 25-square-mile wilderness course.
“The group will be divided into two groups, with Predators able to bank up to $500,000 for capturing Prey, who earn cash prizes for staying in the game,” the synopsis explained. “Each episode will feature a different challenge that changes the game and forces Prey out of hiding.”
Alan will serve as an executive producer for the show in addition to being the host. He’s ready to dive in — literally. He joked with Bunim/Murray that they should have him parachute into the wilderness in the series premiere. At least, we think he was joking.
“Seeing the world’s best survivalists pitted against each other in a high-octane game of hide-and-seek, all while surviving days or weeks in the most frighteningly unpredictable scenarios Mother Nature has to offer,” Alan teased. “TV doesn’t get more exciting than this. I can’t wait to be in the wild with these contestants.”
Predator vs. Prey is still in its early phases of development, so there’s no word on casting or air dates. Keep your eyes peeled for updates.
