Love Island USA: Couples Most Likely to Fold in Casa Amor

The cast of Love Island USA Season 7 faced the ultimate test this week. Yep, that’s right, it’s Casa Amor time. In the Monday, June 23 episode, the islanders said goodbye to their current matches and hello to a bunch of sexy singles eager to shake up the villa. Usually, the islanders have a choice to stay with their current match or jump ship and return with a Casa Amor mate, but this year, there is a twist. All the islanders must couple up with one of the new bombshells. Yeah, this is about to get messy.

In the Tuesday, June 24 episode, OG Love Island USA islanders (and fan favorites) Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen were booted from the island after they failed to secure a match in Casa Amor. Well, that’s what we thought. As Nic was exiting, Olandria rolled up and told him to “get in,” teasing that they may stick around. We’ll have to wait until Thursday, June 26 to see what transpires.

In the meantime, let’s discuss the OG couples and predict who will survivor the Casa test. Who will say goodbye to their Casa match and return to their original couple? Who will start anew with their new match?

Casa Amor is always a hot mess, so it’s no surprise a few Season 7 islanders had their head turned by one of the new singles. The infamous twist always reveals an islander’s true intentions and it’s easy to spot who will fold while away from their match. There are a few couples I feel confident will not survive the Love Island USA shakeup.

Austin Shepard and Amaya Espinal

A few episodes ago, Austin Shepard genuinely liked Amaya Espinal. He even closed the door on his connection with Chelley Bissainthe to pursue her. But unfortunately, the honeymoon phase didn’t last long. He changed his mind about Amaya, telling the other islanders he didn’t like how fast the romance progressed. He went into Casa with an open mind and found a connection with Jaden Duggar. Austin was not conflicted about pursuing Jaden. He seemed perfectly happy to leave behind his previous connection. My guess is that Austin and Amaya’s connection is over for good.

Taylor Williams and Olandria Carthen

I’m hopeful that Olandria will return to the villa, but I think her connection with Taylor Williams may be finished. She didn’t find a deep connection in Casa, but Taylor clicked with bombshell Clarke Carraway. Individually, I love Taylor and Olandria, but as a couple, I just don’t see it. The kissing looks weird and the chemistry is off. Taylor and Clarke seem like a better match. I want Olandria to find her southern cowboy, but I don’t think Taylor is the one.

Casa Amor can ruin connections, but it can also make couples stronger. The couples who aren’t swayed by temptation emerge stronger. They survived the test and proved they are serious about their connection. There are a few couples I feel confident will survive the Casa test. Let’s get into it…

Ace Greene and Chelley Bissainthe

Ace Greene formed a connection with CoCo Watson in Casa Amor, but I think his heart is still with Chelley. He entered Casa with an open mind, pairing up with 21-year-old Vanna Einerson at the recoupling ceremony. But he couldn’t stop thinking about Chelley. In a confessional, he said his chat with Vanna was nice, but his heart was still with his OG match. How cute! Similarly, Chelley mentioned Ace a few times throughout her Casa experience, saying she misses him. I think these two will come back together once Casa Amor week ends. I love them together.

Nic Vansteenberghe and Cierra Ortega

Nic was booted from the Villa after failing to secure a match in Casa, but I don’t think his time on Love Island is over. The tease at the end of Tuesday’s episode made it appear that he and Olandria will return next episode. Nic and Cierra Ortega’s connection is strong and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them come back together after Casa ends. Both of them explored new connections in Casa, but I don’t think their new flings can compare to the connection they’ve built throughout the season. We’ll have to wait and see…
