Here we go again. Another Love Island USA cast member is getting called out for using a slur on social media. This time, it’s Cierra Ortega. She’s found herself in hot water after an old Instagram Story resurfaced showing her using a racial slur. Now, fans are calling for her removal from the villa.
What slur did Cierra from Love Island USA say?
Love Island USA contestant Cierra Ortega was exposed as using a slur offensive to Asian people on social media.
The public outcry began when an old Instagram Story from Cierra resurfaced on Reddit and TikTok. It’s a solid reminder that just because it expired from your Story doesn’t mean it’s gone forever.
The post showed Cierra sitting in a doctor’s office, right after getting a Botox treatment. She was explaining to her followers why she loved it so much, noting that she sometimes frowns unintentionally. She wrote, “Botox isn’t for everyone but I love it for me!!!”
“I can also be a little c****y when i laugh/smile so I love getting a mini brow lift,” she continued.
Another screenshot is floating around social media, allegedly showing her using the same racist language. It’s caused a wave of outrage, with one person pointing out she lost over 120,000 followers on Instagram within 24 hours.
For Love Island fans, the most frustrating part about this is that we’ve already been down this road. Season 7 began with Yulissa Escobar getting kicked out of the villa after her repeated use of the N-word resurfaced.
One viewer noted, “The fact that Yulissa was pushed out for saying a slur but Cierra has been saying the same slur for YEARS and hasn’t been packed up is wild. You can’t allow one and not the other. Racism is racism.”
