Someone’s clearly been listening to Savannah Chrisley’s podcast. Next Gen NYC star Gia Giudice just shared a letter to President Donald Trump, asking him for help with her deported father, Joe Giudice. If begging worked for the Chrisleys, why wouldn’t it work for the Giudices?
Gia wants to bring dad Joe Giudice home with President Trump’s help
You might recall that at one point, Gia was working on a law degree, hoping to specialize in immigration law to help her dad get back to the States. She’s put those plans on pause, and instead, she’s hoping that Trump can work some magic.
Gia uploaded a video showing herself furiously writing a letter to Trump before heading to the post office. She showed the front of the letter, confirming the White House as the recipient. She gave a semi-emotional voiceover explaining her plea to the president.
“Hi guys, my name is Gia Giudice, I’m the daughter of Joe Giudice, and today I’m using my voice for something deeply personal,” the Next Gen NYC star began.
Of course, the United States deported Joe back to his home country of Italy in 2019, following his prison sentence. It’s his punishment for his multitude of federal crimes. However, as Gia explained to President Trump, her family needs their father.
Additionally, “No matter how strong we try to be, the absence of a father, of a parent, is something that never stops hurting,” said Gia, who is 24 years old.
“Watching the Chrisley family receive a second chance inspired me,” Gia explained in the video. It showed me that people can be forgiven, that families can be restored, and that sometimes, the justice system has room for grace.”
Plenty of people in Gia’s comments criticized the post. If law-abiding families are being separated due to Trump’s anti-immigrant policies, why would Joe get special treatment? Further, even the Chrisleys didn’t ask to overturn a deportation.
One commenter wrote, “Are you currently aware of what’s going on with immigration at the moment in this country? Smh”
Meanwhile, Gia had the support of her mom, Teresa Giudice, in the comments. Tre added a heart emoji under her daughter’s post.
Next Gen NYC airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
