Jax Taylor has not had a good Season 2 on The Valley. Between checking into rehab, rage texting Brittany Cartwright, and gaslighting the nurses, fans have lost any empathy they had left for the OG villain. But when he revealed that he didn’t pay his taxes out of spite, Jax was left alone on an island of stupid as fans questioned his motives.
Jax admits making “mistakes” on The Valley After Show
During The Valley After Show, Brittany opened up more about the couple’s financial issues. She stated, “He did the same thing with his taxes for years. He didn’t pay. He just figures it’s just going to go away.” As fans have watched, Jax’s selfish decisions have affected her. She shared, “My mortgage used to be around 8,000 [dollars a month]. I pay 18,000 [dollars a month] now because of his taxes.” The amount is astronomical, and fans balked at the revelation. However, Jax had his reasons, no matter how short-sighted. The Jax’s Studio City owner said, “I didn’t have the money to pay it, so, I just kind of let it ride. He shared, “People make mistakes in taxes every single day. I learned my lesson.”
Jax also revealed that he and Brittany did have to “remortgage” their Valley Village house due to his inaction. The father of one showed little remorse, noting, “Here we are. But I fixed it. And I made it clean. And now we’re good.” But Jax does have one regret. He told fans, “Putting my son and putting Brittany in such an awkward place, like I’ll never forgive myself for that. And it was just an awful thing to do.” All we can say is Uncle Sam always wants what he is due.
The Valley airs Tuesdays at 8 PM/EST on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
