Life after the pods is looking good for Sara Carton and Joey Leveille! The Love Is Blind Season 8 alums just confirmed their romance, months after their appearance on the Netflix show. Fans had suspected that something was brewing between the two, and now, it’s official.
Love Is Blind’s Joey and Sara denied their romance months ago
During Love Is Blind Season 8, Joey got engaged to Monica Danús. When they went to the altar during the finale, she revealed that she wasn’t ready for marriage. Meanwhile, Sara matched up with Ben Mezzenga, and she broke things off with him at the altar after they weren’t on the “same wavelength.” She got the ick when he dodged questions about his political views.
In an interview with Elite Daily, Monica said she confronted Sara after the Love is Blind Season 8 reunion because she could sense the chemistry between her and Joey. The pair even sat next to each other at the reunion, which means the producers were probably aware of their relationship. They just didn’t tell anyone else.
Monica recalled, “I texted Sara, ‘I’m hearing a lot of things about you and Joey. Is there anything you need to tell me?’ And she called me and said, ‘Nothing’s official, but we are seeing each other.’ She said they didn’t want to make anything official until any online hate dies down.”
“She told me this started a month ago, so that’s at least two months ago now. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was longer,” Monica continued. “All this time, when I was venting to her about Joey and she was saying she had my back, she was actually with him.
In March, Sara denied the romance rumors during an episode of The Viall Files podcast. She specifically said she and Joey weren’t dating and had “no capacity” to even think about a relationship. Clearly, a lot has changed since then!
On Monday, July 14, Joey and Sara went Instagram official. They shared a photo of each other hugging while standing on a rooftop. The next picture in the post showed them locking lips to really seal the deal.
Underneath the post, fans shared their thoughts about the romance. Unfortunately, many of them were shady, which is exactly what Joey and Sara were trying to avoid.
One person wrote, “So you gaslighted Monica?”
Another added, “Why did you guys deny this for so long? Lol.”
