Love Is Blind
I miss the simple days when Jessica Batten being 34 while Mark Cuevas was 24 was such a big issue. As Love is Blind fans know, Jessica and Mark didn’t make it down the aisle, which surprised no one since Jessica never seemed to give Mark a chance and was still hung up on [Matt] Barnett.
Apparently, after the show, Mark started dating LC Chamblin, who was also on Love is Blind. She was one of the other girls who was interested in Barnett, but she didn’t get engaged to any of the other guys, so we never saw her again. And, now, there are rumors that Mark cheated on LC, which is quite the risk considering the global pandemic going on right now. Oh, and apparently he may have cheated on Jessica too.
While the premise of Love is Blind focused on singles looking for true love without seeing what the suitors look like, one of the most compelling elements was the love triangles. Jessica Batten was torn between [Matt] Barnett and Mark Cuevas. However, Barnett ditched Jessica for Amber Pike and LC Chamblin. Eventually, he proposed to Amber and they’re still married today, almost two years later. That quickly ended LC’s reality TV career though. However, Jessica was still on the show, annoying the shit out of all of us.
Jessica constantly reminded Mark that he was “24.” She created problems that weren’t actually there while Mark was an absolute gem. She also got drunk and threw herself at Barnett a couple of different times that we saw. The level of disrespect was unreal.
We have had a lot of good things coming out of Netflix lately. I’ve always been a fan of the streaming service but they’ve really kicked it up a notch as of late. I binged Love is Blind and Tiger King like nobody’s business. Who hasn’t at this point? But now that those are over, I’m ready for more!
Luckily, Netflix has answered my prayers and a new binge-worthy show is on its way. As we previously reported, Too Hot to Handle is coming to your screens on April 17th. And in my opinion, it can’t come soon enough. Quarantine has been rough and a show about some hot singles who can’t have sex is really appealing right now. I’m guessing a lot of you out there might be stuck in the same situation. Too bad you’re not getting $100K for your efforts, ammirite?
Do you miss Love is Blind? I definitely had a hangover from watching so many episodes in a row. But quarantine left me no other option but to get sucked in. With that said, I was pretty invested and felt like it was an enjoyable show. I even find myself following up on how all the couples are doing, as they are giving us plenty of content lately. It’s even been renewed for a second and third season.
Aside from Love is Blind, I have been a pretty big Netflix fan in general. Tiger King rocked my world, y’all. I am still reeling from it. But Netflix is going back to the dating show formula and is working on a new show that’s got quite the interesting premise.
Love is Blind is long over but the revelations coming out of the show are still going strong! While some couples, like Kelly Chase and Kenny Barnes, didn’t make it or even stay in contact after the show, others thrived and are still together.
One such couple is Amber Pike and Matt Barnett. To be honest, I really didn’t think this couple was even going to say “I do”. Between Amber’s immaturity and financial problems, to Barnett’s family seemingly turning their nose up at Amber, it just didn’t seem like a good match from the start. But I’ve been wrong before and I will be wrong again – right now actually. Amber and Barnett are still going strong. Now, they’re dishing about some of the drama they faced behind the scenes of the show.
Hey all you cool cats and kittens! This quarantine has got my sanity holding on like one of Joe Exotic’s hoop earrings right now. But the one good thing that’s come of it during self isolation is the emergence of excellent TV. Netflix first did us a solid with Love Is Blind. Now they have stepped up their crazy game with Tiger King.
The show features toothless hillbillies, alligator fire pit espionage, monkeys in diapers, hit men who decide half way to the location of their hit that they just aren’t feeling it. Ciggs a plenty. Not to mention the epitome of a crazy cat lady accused of feeding her late husband to their tigers. The whole internet is going mad for this show and it’s obvious to see why. Even celebrities are flocking to the show like it’s catnip.
If you haven’t binged on Love is Blind on Netflix, I have no idea what you’re waiting for. I watched back to back episodes over the course of three days. I don’t know if I’ve ever gone through a series that fast. Not even past seasons of Real Housewives on Hulu kept me at such rapt attention.
With that said, I do have a bit of a Love is Blind hangover. Meaning, I had too much of it but somehow, getting more is the only way I’m going to feel better. You know, like the hair of the dog. Maybe that sounds dramatic. But, you are talking to someone who just admitted to dedicating three days to one TV show. Moderation is not my strong suit.
