Love Island USA’s most surprising Season 7 duo was Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe. Nic was closed off with Cierra Ortega, while Olandria had been in a relationship with rodeo rider and vet student Taylor Williams. However, Casa Amor turned their world upside down.
When both Olandria and Nic were eliminated, they were offered the chance to couple up and return to the villa. So, they did. However, they ultimately decided to keep things platonic and reunite with Cierra and Taylor. Unfortunately for Olandria, Taylor decided to couple up with Clarke Carraway. And Cierra was removed from the villa for prior use of a racial slur.

During their first coupling, Olandria and Nic shared one kiss in Soul Ties. Then, after Cierra’s exit, Nic and Olandria decided to explore their connection again. The duo, who fans dubbed “Nicolandria,” came in second place during the finale, so clearly there were sparks.
“I didn’t allow myself to feel that spark. If I’m being honest, yes, there was [one],” Olandria told PEOPLE about the Soul Ties kiss. “I was like, ‘You know what? I feel so guilty.’ I’m just going to write it off and say that there wasn’t, out of respect for Cierra.”
She continued, “I’m always considerate of everyone else’s feelings other than mine. I’ll always put myself to the side and was willing to give this connection up [for] Cierra.” Wow. Olandria is a good friend.
“The one moment that I did make a decision for me was the best decision I could have ever made,” Olandria said of coupling up with Nic, “and made my whole experience way better.” Then Nic weighed in about his connection with Olandria. “In reality, I was her secret admirer from day one. And I think people are forgetting that we have history behind not just that moment,” Nic added.
