King Charles might reportedly agree to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal return. According to a source, the monarch would allegedly break the late Queen Elizabeth’s rule for his second son.
He might make a “part-time royal” deal, in which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could take part in select royal duties, while maintaining their commercial freedom. The news came after the aides of the father-son duo recently had a confidential meeting related to a potential reconciliation.
King Charles’ decision to bring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back is based on ‘survival,’ says ‘source’
King Charles might reportedly decide to bring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back due to his health issues. In 2024, reports claimed that he had been undergoing cancer treatment. Although he has been performing his royal duties, a significant portion of the workload has become Prince William’s responsibility.
Moreover, if something happens to the king, the Prince of Wales is next in line. Thus, Prince Harry’s return might be a deal to help with William’s growing responsibilities, and “isn’t about feelings,” an aide told Rob Shuter.
“It’s about survival,” they added. However, this ruling would go against the late Queen Elizabeth’s values. In 2020, she was reportedly against the idea of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s proposal of handling royal duties as well as their commercial projects.
She declared, “You’re either in or out.” This was why the Duke of Sussex and his wife made their exit and settled outside the Palace. An insider mentioned that she might have seen King Charles’ decision as a “betrayal.”
Meanwhile, Shuter quoted another source, who revealed the 76-year-old’s intention behind the duke’s return. “He needs their global star power to keep the monarchy relevant,” they said. Thus, he would help Harry and his wife navigate royal life on their own terms.
Earlier, reports stated that Prince William was “furious” after learning about the secret meeting between his father and his brother’s aides. Furthermore, Harry will apparently not see his elder sibling during his upcoming London visit.
