A new report has suggested that financial troubles could be the reason behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s peace talks with King Charles. The couple has been estranged from the British royal family for several years after they stepped down from their public roles in 2020. Harry and Meghan also ditched the United Kingdom to pursue a life in the United States.
Recent reports have now claimed that they have been making efforts towards reconciliation. This comes after Netflix scrapped Harry and Meghan’s $100 million deal. Meanwhile, The Sun‘s exclusive report states that, according to a royal expert, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will now be seeking assistance. Journalist and author Robert Jobson hinted at what the scrapped deal meant for Harry and Meghan.
Jobson said, “Probably with a bit of a bowl out,” and added, “Looking for some handouts.” The journalist also speculated that this is why Harry and Meghan’s team were having talks with the king and queen’s director of communications. Additionally, Jobson also noted that Harry and Meghan “got support” from the king and the late Queen Elizabeth “in the past.” However, the couple “said they were going to go and make their way.”
Now, Jobson said, “They’ve lost Spotify, they’ve lost Netflix.” This has seemingly resulted in financial troubles for Harry and Meghan. Rhiannon Mills, another guest on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, also wondered how the couple will “keep the money coming in” for their “very expensive lifestyle.”
Meanwhile, another recent report also gave some insight into the reason behind Netflix calling off the deal. It may have been because Meghan seemed to prioritize her brand, “As Ever.” The contract will expire in September.
