Gia Giudice Gives Honest Response To Watching Next Gen NYC: ‘I Came off Aggressive’

As the first season of Bravo’s Next Gen NYC comes to a close, cast members can look back and share what they learned about themselves. For Gia Giudice, the first season of Next Gen highlighted her need to relax a little bit, learn from her mistakes, and get out of what she calls. “mom mode.”

The first season may have just finished, but fans are already looking forward to a second one. Who knew that a cast of nepo babies and up-and-comers would be such a hit? But it was! Many of the cast endeared themselves to audiences, while some didn’t do as great. And for Gia, looking back meant some self-reflection.

Andy Cohen says Gia Giudice was “more reflective” than Teresa Giudice has ever been

Unlike some of the other stars of Next Gen NYC, Gia did not translate as well with audiences. Her comments to Riley came off a bit harsh and at times she seemed quite aggressive (but at least she didn’t flip any tables! IYKYK).

Rumors of her getting fired by Andy Cohen were immediately shut down. Some fans think she may not necessarily be a good fit for the next season. Gia’s not letting that get her down though and instead is using her experience in Season 1 as a learning experience.

On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Gia shared how she wasn’t too pleased about how she came off on Next Gen NYC.

“I think on Housewives, being under my mom’s shadow, it was always about protecting our family and our peace and happiness,” she shared. She explained that growing up and through their legal issues, she was always defensive and in “mom mode.”

“So on Next Gen, I think I need to transition better into being a friend,” she admitted. “And not always being in that mom mode. Because I definitely did come off harsh. I definitely did come off aggressive. And that’s not who I am.”

Gia shared that she was ready to take the experience and grow from it. And she reiterated that it was part of the show and part of being in their twenties, learning who they are and growing.

“Good for you,” Andy said. “No slam on your mom but that was more reflective after one season than I’ve maybe ever heard her be. But that’s not a slam on your mom, it’s really not.”

Next Gen NYC is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
