America’s Next Top Model ran for 24 seasons, hosted by model Tyra Banks. This series wrapped in 2018. But one former contestant from 2007 is now speaking out about her time spent filming on this series. And her f*ck-you styled admissions against Tyra now have us wanting to rewatch this series, solely to see if we can find evidence of her claims.
A particular gesture was the ANTM star’s secret message for Tyra Banks
Ambreal Williams competed on Season 9 of ANTM. Sadly for her, she did not win her season. Instead, Ambreal got eliminated from the competition during Episode 9. And when this icon exited, she did so dancing, with her arms raised high as she sashayed through the door.
Eighteen years later, this model sat down with Entertainment Weekly. Here, Ambreal spoke about her fun little exit scene, confessing that she gave a secret hand gesture during her exit. And allegedly, this bat signal for bitches was a known secret amongst her cast. This signal meant “f*ck you,” and her cast created this distress signal far away from the watching eyes of their ever-present camera lenses.
“We had an inside joke within the group,” Ambreal admitted, telling fans to look out for signs of this joke while rewatching the elimination scenes on her season of ANTM. “It was a ‘f*ck you.’ So, when I got eliminated, you saw me [raise my hands] and walk off the stage,” Ambreal explained.
This gesture involves the models throwing their arms into the air, mimicking the moves of a basketball player shooting for their hoop. During a rewatch, we saw Ambreal making this signal. And we also saw laughter emanating from several of her former cast members.
As she further detailed, she received many negative comments from the judges regarding her “dead” eyes and “hoochie” demeanor throughout her season. Ambreal then “figured the bullsh*t out right away,” revealing that she no longer felt welcome in this competition series. Nor did several of her fellow castmates, Ambreal stressed. Hence, their secret behind-the-scenes signal.
