America’s Next Top Model has been making steady headlines in the past few weeks. This is all thanks to the bombshell Netflix special Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model. It also included the show’s leading lady herself, Tyra Banks.
There were a ton of accusations thrown directly towards Tyra, from former judges and contestants. And now Janice Dickinson, another former cast member, is calling her out.

Janice, an iconic 80s supermodel, was also main judge on ANTM for four seasons, including its inaugural season. In the brand-new E! series Dirty Rotten Secrets, she let it be known how she felt about Tyra’s behavior on the show.
“She was always trying to be this tough teen mum to the girls but she didn’t know them, she didn’t give them enough confidence. They left the show completely depressed and depleted while she got so rich. America’s Next Top Model really tortured these girls for Tyra’s ego. I was there and I saw it for four seasons. ‘She was a hardcore b*tch,” she shared in the March 11 episode.
The former supermodel also addressed the elephant in the room, which is that she wasn’t always nice on-screen either.
“The producers, especially Tyra, were begging me to be harsher and cruel, like Simon Cowell was on American Idol.”
It’s not likely that Tyra will rebut Janice’s accusations. In the Netflix special, she didn’t admit to much wrongdoing. The only moment that she distinctly agreed she pushed the boundaries on was the infamous ‘rooting for you’ moment.
The E! series will also feature comments from the ANTM Season 17 winner Lisa D’Amato, who notoriously has nothing nice to say about Tyra. This could be interesting.
