King Charles Wants A-List Singer to Perform at His Funeral, Claims Source

King Charles‘ admiration for Barbra Streisand has been of public knowledge for years, and if sources are to be believed, the monarch has requested this A-list singer to perform at his funeral. Whether or not the singer has accepted the offer is yet to be confirmed, but for now, King Charles has reportedly made a special request to Streisand for a “deeply personal farewell.”

King Charles III has reportedly made a personal request to Barbara Streisand to perform at his eventual state funeral. Although the plans are still confidential, a palace insider told #ShuterScoop that the performance “request is real. He’s always adored her — and this would be a deeply personal farewell.”

The bond between the legendary singer and Britain’s monarch is not new. Charles once called the Hollywood icon his “only pin-up.” Moreover, she is among the few to receive roses from his royal garden on special occasions. “There’s genuine affection there,” a former royal aide added.

King Charles III has a soft spot for the multitalented actress since his Cambridge University days. As per Cosmopolitan, the monarch once said he has “always been a great admirer of the incredibly versatile American actress and singer Barbra Streisand.”

The British monarch first met the EGOT winner in 1974 when he was the Prince of Wales. She was filming for “Funny Lady” in Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles at the time. Two decades later, the royal member met the “effervescent talent” again in 1994 when Streisand performed in Prince’s Trust charity at Wembley Arena in London before striking a decades-long friendship.

As per the New York Post, the singer even wrote about their meeting in her memoir “My Name Is Barbra.” In the memoir, she said that “prince was utterly charming when he came to the studio.”

Streisand further added that both of them “are shy, but somehow we still managed to connect… because that proved to be the beginning of an unexpected friendship.” Hence, as per the royal source, if the singer performs at King Charles’ funeral, “it won’t just be a tribute — it will be the most watched, most moving goodbye of her career.”
