Love Island Star Lochan Nowacki Accused of Racist Comment by Ex Whitney Adebayo

Once again, Love Island stars are facing allegations of racism. This time Love Island UK’s Lochan Nowacki was accused of being racist by his ex-girlfriend Whitney Adebayo. She claims that he called her skin “dirty” during their relationship.

The former fan favorite couple announced in April that they were going their separate ways. And the fans weren’t the only ones who felt upset. According to Whitney at the time, Lochan’s decision broke her heart and she shared, “I’m broken.”

Now, it looks like the breakup wasn’t just painful but there may have been racial undertones to their relationship breakdown too. At least according to Whitney.

She shared a post on her social media that showed her wearing a bright pink swimsuit with the text, “You look happier.” Then in succeeding images of her in the same suit she wrote, “Thank you! I finally fell in love with my skin he used to call dirty.”

Naturally, her post caused a firestorm. Lochan took to his TikTok to defend himself. He said that he felt insulted by the allegation. According to Lochan, Whitney allegedly put her nails in his face while showing off her manicure and saying her hands were “so clean” and his were not.

He says he replied by saying, “No, they’re not.” According to him she was shocked and said that he was “calling her dirty.” He couldn’t believe she would think something like that. He said he was appalled that she would call him a racist.

“I’ve never called someone’s skin dirty, I would never,” Lochan said in his video. “That to me is the most upsetting comment.”

But it didn’t end there. Whitney posted her own video discrediting what Lochan said. According to her, she told Lochan her skin was “glistening in the sun.” He allegedly replied with, “Ugh, it’s dirty.” When she lashed out, he reportedly said it was a joke.

This isn’t the first time racism has been a problem on Love Island and among its contestants. Producers removed Love Island USA contestant Cierra Ortega in the most recent season for using a racial slur. Before her, producers also removed Yulissa Escobar for using the N-word

Plus, while it hasn’t been confirmed yet, there appear to be racist undertones in the split of JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez too.

Love Island UK is streaming on ITV and Hulu.
