The former Queen Elizabeth II reportedly did not approve of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding guest list. The couple’s decision to give invitations to “random” celebrities rather than family members allegedly did not sit well with her. During an episode of the YouTube show “Royally Unfiltered” by royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, royal expert Sally Bedell Smith said that the wedding guest list of the Duke of Sussex and Duchess of Sussex became an “irritation” for the former Queen.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t invite a whole group of cousins, says expert
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly refrained from inviting an entire group of cousins to their royal wedding. Instead, the guest list was allegedly filled with “random” A-list celebrities. In a recent episode of royal commentator Kinsey Schofield’s YouTube show, “Royally Unfiltered”, Sally Bedell Smith, a royal expert, claimed, “Harry and Meghan just disinvited or didn’t invite a whole group of family and cousins.” The expert continued, “The children of the Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and of the Gloucesters.”
Sally Bedell Smith further explained, “She [Meghan] and Harry just “exed” them out of the guest list and they added all these other random people who barely even knew the Royal Family.” The person added, “That was just yet another irritation for the Queen.” According to the expert, the former monarch felt “upset” as she could not be completely involved in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding planning. While talking about the royal wedding, Elizabeth II reportedly told her cousin Lady Elizabeth Anson, “But it’s my house. And I’m paying for it.”
According to the Daily Mail, the royal family paid for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. It included the arrangement for the music, the service, the reception and the flowers as well. A total of 600 guests were reportedly invited to a reception during lunchtime at St George’s Hall. The former Queen hosted the reception. It was then followed by a party in the evening for 200 VIP guests at Frogmore House. Harry’s father, King Charles III, hosted it.
