Among the many things the trio discussed on the New Heights podcast, Taylor Swift opened up about the time Jason Kelce went into panic mode while having a beer when Swift told them the British Royal Family was about to meet them.
“Wasn’t this the week I got to watch Jason meet the Royal Family?” Swift recalled in the podcast while discussing Travis Kelce’s debut on the Eras Tour stage. “He was like, ‘What do I do with my beer?” Travis Kelce recalled laughing at his brother.
“I watched him have this moment with his beer where he was like, ‘But I want to take it, but I know that I probably should not take it,’,” Taylor Swift explained, ” I watched this happen, and it kind of was the most amazing [thing],” she added gesturing how Jason Kelce was holding the beer.
Jason Kelce responded to this, “I like that you picked up on it because that was exactly what was going through my head,” and added, “Is it disrespectful to have a beer when you meet royalty?”
Swift responded to this, saying, “Yeah…or is it authentic by having the beer? I would normally have the beer, wouldn’t they want me to be myself? I’m watching you say that in your head.”
All three of them laughed heartily at this incident, and it became one of the highlights of this podcast session. At the end of it all, the meeting between the Kelces and the Royal Family went really well.
