Todd Chrisley is back in the news again. But this time, the headlines are focused on his son, Kyle Chrisley. Last year, Kyle received a felony charge following an arrest for aggravated assault. Now, Kyle is lawyering up, aiming to sue two deputies, alongside the county that hired them in Tennessee, for a cool $1.7 million.
Kyle Chrisley is hitting back with a lawsuit after his 2024 arrest

Last year, Kyle posted about his arrest. In his post, Kyle stressed that the police nabbed the wrong person. Instead of arresting him, they needed to cuff Kentravis Moore, an aggressive mechanic who had been trying to break into his home. Even still, they charged Kyle, who slammed the officers in his post, noting that they unfairly arrested him because he had already “allegedly pulled a knife during a fight with my boss last year.”
Now, according to Kyle, a Chrisley Knows Best Season 1 alum, and WSMV 4, the outlet that first broke this report, Kyle has just initiated a lawsuit. His federal-level suit is seeking $1.7 million in damages. The suit claims that these deputies ignored eyewitness accounts during their investigation. Likewise, they reportedly overlooked video footage of the encounter while failing to uphold the state’s self-defense law.
“Kyle and Ashleigh Chrisley bring this lawsuit because no family should face criminal charges or threats of arrest for defending themselves at home or for exercising their constitutional rights. This is a case about false arrest, excessive force, and retaliation for trying to hold police officers accountable,” states his suit. Likewise, Ashleigh also has a claim to make. When she started videoing the officers’ conduct, they allegedly threatened her with arrest and ordered her to stop recording.
Kyle and Ashleigh felt “terrorized in their own home.” Therefore, they called for help. Yet they received the opposite, states the claim. Now, they want all parties held accountable.
Chrisley Knows Best is streaming on Peacock.
