After the Real Housewives of Miami cast filmed the Season 7 reunion, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Guerdy Abraira and Kiki Barth were no longer following each other on Instagram. The assumption was that something nasty went down at the reunion, but it turns out that’s not the case. Kiki just came clean. She actually blocked Guerdy, and it happened way before they sat down for the reunion.
Why did Real Housewives of Miami star Kiki Barth block Guerdy Abraira on Instagram?
Kiki cleared the air about her relationship with Guerdy during a recent interview with Decider. According to Kiki, her feelings about Guerdy changed after watching RHOM Season 7 Episode 3. That was the episode where she told Guerdy how some of the other cast members felt like she was being “very extra.” Kiki said she saw a “different side” of Guerdy once the episode aired.
“I was getting all this backlash,” Kiki said of the episode’s aftermath.
“We didn’t have any problem. We did not,” she continued. “I think she just saw how the show was edited, and she decided to go with the fans, and I was like, ‘Wow, OK.’ Sometimes I need a break because I was getting a lot of craziness, and I just didn’t want to deal with it at the time.”
Throughout Season 7, we’ve seen Guerdy clash with Julia Lemigova and receive little support from her castmates. Part of the “backlash” Kiki received came from fans who felt like she should have been more sympathetic to Guerdy. However, Kiki said it wasn’t her intention to immediately side with Julia.
“Julia and Guerdy were best friends, so my main thing with both of them was, ‘OK, now that I’m cool with both of them, they’re not talking. I’ll try to bring them together.’” Kiki claimed.
She continued, “Of course, that backfired in the worst way possible. But it was coming from a good space to try to bring two best friends who were closer at one point to each other than myself.”
There are still a handful of episodes left in RHOM Season 7, plus the reunion. Based on how Kiki is talking, it doesn’t sound like she had much of a resolution. We’re going to assume that Guerdy is still blocked.
