Most people would know to avoid speaking on someone’s recently passed relative. But it seems Becky Lynch didn’t get that memo. The WWE star didn’t hold back on her comments about Ozzy Osbourne on Monday – and Kelly Osbourne is fuming.
Becky Lynch cut a promo on Birmingham and referenced Ozzy Osbourne’s death during WWE’s Monday Night Raw

She may be heralded for her wrestling skills, but Becky Lynch isn’t likely to win any diplomacy awards any time soon. Becky, real name Rebecca Quin, made some “interesting” comments referencing Ozzy, who died last month, earlier this week. Speaking at the Monday Night RAW, she was less than complimentary about his beloved hometown, Birmingham. These comments definitely didn’t go down well with the crowd, given that the WWE event was taking place … in Birmingham.
“I am not wrestling in Birmingham. The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago. Ozzy Osbourne has the good sense to move to LA, a proper city. If I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too.”
Unsurprisingly, the Irish wrestler’s statements were met with a chorus of boos. And the audience weren’t the only ones upset. Kelly Osbourne took to Instagram to defend the city her dad grew up in. Calling Becky a “disrespectful dirtbag”, she wrote “Birmingham would not piss on you if you were on fire.”
Perhaps the wrestler underestimated the metal legend’s ties to the city. Despite living in LA for 25 years, Ozzy was proud of his working class “Brummie” heritage. The city was certainly proud of him – thousands lined the streets to pay their respects last month. The Black Sabbath band members were given the Freedom of The City of Birmingham in June. Speaking at the event, Ozzy said: “I’m a Brummie and I always will be a Brummie. Birmingham Forever!”
