Meghan Markle remembers the exact moment she first knew she was in love with Prince Harry. Recently, she shared that moment on Season 2 of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan.
During a conversation with British fashion designer Tan France, the Duchess of Sussex reminisced about her early days with Harry. In a conversation about their respective spouses, Tan asked Meghan, “I can’t help but ask personal questions … Was there a moment you were like, ‘I know that I love this guy’?”
“Yes. That was our third date,” the Meghan admitted. Though he was taken aback at how quickly it happened, when you know you just know.
Meghan Markle also revealed who said “I love you” first between her and Prince Harry

“We met in Botswana, and we camped for five days together,” Meghan recalled.
“So you really had time to fall in love in those few days,” the Queer Eye star responded. “That’s nice.”
“You really get to know somebody when you’re in a little tent together and there’s like, ‘What is that outside the tent?’” she explained. “That’s an elephant. Are we gonna be safe? Yeah, you’re safe. Okay.'”
Getting even more personal, Tan dug a little deeper, asking who was the first to say “I love you.”
“He told me,” she replied.
Even though it was a sweet story, Tan finally realized that his personal questions were embarrassing his hostess. When he noticed she was starting to blush, he decided it was time to change the subject.
“She’s still got it!” Meghan laughed.
In 2016, Harry and Meghan were set up by a mutual friend while she was in London. They had two back-to-back dates in the city, before Harry invited her to Botswana.
The African nation was close to Harry’s heart ever since his dad, now King Charles III, took him there shortly after the death of his mother, Princess Diana. As an adult, Botswana became the focus of much of his conservation and charitable work.
“We camped out with each other under the stars,” the prince told the BBC in 2017. “She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic.”
The couple married in 2018 in a televised ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Approximately 2.9 billion people watched the wedding worldwide (including me). Harry and Meghan now have two children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, who are sixth and seventh in line to the British throne. The family lives near Santa Barbara, California, since leaving the UK in 2020.
Despite the couple’s exit from the Royal Family, Harry hopes to mend things with Charles, who is battling cancer.
With Love, Meghan Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
