Meghan Markle seemed to be upset over Taylor Swift reportedly targeting her. According to a source, the Duchess of Sussex seemingly didn’t appreciate the fact that the singer took over her limelight. On August 26, the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker was trending online after she announced her engagement to Travis Kelce on Instagram. On the same day, the “Suits” alum’s Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” season 2 premiered.
Meghan Markle believes Taylor Swift is ‘deliberately’ stealing her spotlight, says source
Meghan Markle and Taylor Swift have recently achieved milestones in their respective ways. While the Duchess’s “With Love, Meghan” premiered with a new season, the pop idol got engaged to Travis Kelce. Both events apparently happened on the same day. Hence, the former TV actress reportedly believed that Swift stole her spotlight and “hijacked” news headlines.
A source told Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop that it could not be “a coincidence.” They pointed out that the 35-year-old soloist even announced her upcoming TS12 album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” during “Meghan’s Season 2 rollout.” Then, the pop icon grabbed all the attention with her engagement announcement on the same day as the Netflix show’s premiere. “Meghan is convinced Taylor is targeting her,” the insider said.
Although Markle was allegedly upset, she liked Swift’s social media post. The duchess didn’t want to show she was feeling “bitter,” but in reality, she was “livid.” Furthermore, things didn’t reportedly work for the 44-year-old as her culinary show didn’t receive positive reviews. On the other hand, the bride-to-be was trending all over the internet. “Taylor keeps blowing it up. She believes it’s sabotage — pure and simple,” the source claimed.
Season 2 of “With Love, Meghan” has earlier made headlines, stating that the main star of the show was unable to pull superstars for guest appearances. However, the cooking reality series featured Markle welcoming a line-up of popular chefs, artists, and friends to Montecito. Some of the big names included Chrissy Teigen, David Chang, Tan France, and Jay Shetty.
