Meghan Markle Pays Tribute to California Wildfire Victims in Netflix Show

The Duchess of Sussex is honouring those impacted by the wildfires in California.

From January 7 to 31, the state was devastated by 14 wildfires. San Diego County and the Los Angeles metropolitan area were affected by this disaster. Meghan Markle was born in Los Angeles, moving back to California with husband Prince Harry in 2020.

The second season of Meghan’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, was released on August 26. Meghan and Harry were living in England before stepping away from their royal duties in 2020. They have two kids, with son Archie born in 2019 and daughter Lilibet arriving just over two years later.

On Meghan’s Netflix show, the former actress blends practical how-tos and candid conversations with friends, new and old.

A special tribute message was displayed at the end of episode seven of the newly released season.

“This episode, filmed in the heart of Malibu, is dedicated to the first responders and all those affected by the devastating fires that swept through communities across California in early 2025. With love, to all our neighbors,” the statement read.

The 44-year-old decided to delay it by several weeks because of the wildfires.

“Delaying the release of With Love, Meghan was likely an easy decision for her. I don’t think she could imagine putting out a show centred on joy and hosting when so many people in her home state no longer have homes to host people in,” an industry insider told People.

In January, Meghan and Harry volunteered in Pasadena to support victims of the Eaton Fire, distributing food and supplies with World Central Kitchen.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also opened their Montecito home to friends who had to evacuate due to the wildfires.
