He may have had one of the biggest downfalls in celeb history, but it turns out Charlie Sheen is actually a pretty generous guy. The actor reportedly gave away tens of millions of dollars during his TV heyday.
Charlie Sheen donated between $26 million and $30 million to various charities

Charlie might not be someone you’d have pegged as being much of a philanthropist, but he apparently dropped cash for years on the down low. A source recently told TMZ that the star donated between $26 million and $30 million at the peak of his career. The causes he supported included Autism Speaks, cancer research and initiatives helping the homeless. He apparently made his contributions anonymously, reportedly telling his team to keep it quiet.
Despite being one of the highest-paid TV actors during his time on Two and a Half Men, Charlie suffered a catastrophic fall from grace. Reported substance abuse and mental health issues led to a series of legal troubles, professional conflicts and bizarre interviews (remember the tiger blood thing?). He was eventually fired from Two and a Half Men in 2011.
But the actor has made great effort to rebuild his life since then. He has been sober for years, and is more focused on being a present dad and grandfather these days. Speaking of daughter Cassandra’s kids to People he said: “What’s cool is that her twins have only known me sober.”
Earlier this year Charlie’s middle daughter, Sami, revealed she is no longer in contact with the actor. Speaking on Gia Giudice’s Casual Chaos in April, she said their estrangement stemmed from her frustration that her dad hadn’t called her following her rhinoplasty.
The actor opens up about his past and the pain he caused himself and others in two new projects. He’s written a memoir, The Book of Sheen, and made a two-part doc for Netflix, simply titled Charlie Sheen. Both come out next week.
