We’re learning more about the Chrisley family in the new Lifetime series The Chrisleys: Back to Reality. It’s not just about Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley anymore, but the show also shows what the kids are up to as well. Chase Chrisley is ready to take the big step with his girlfriend Jodi Laine Fournerat despite his mom Julie’s hesitation.
Chase has been with Jodi since November 2023. Despite Chase’s wayward behavior recently, the two seem to be stronger than ever. Chase is ready to pop the question. Julie was a bit hesitant, but for a good reason.
Julie Chrisley was “not thrilled” about Chase’s plans to propose
On the second episode of the Chrisleys’ new show, Chase chose to spend the Easter holiday with Jodi’s family in Louisiana. This has been a common occurrence for Chase to spend holidays with them during the time Todd and Julie were in prison.
Jodi’s family treats him great and has given him their stamp of approval. “They’ve all been very welcoming. Obviously, I miss my family, and I wish that we were all together, but I’m thankful I have her family to lean on.”
Chase is already looking forward to their future. He’s ready to make the big commitment and would consider even living in Louisiana with her in the future. He also noted that he enjoyed that her family wasn’t “getting into each other’s business.” Honestly, the opposite of his family, TBH.
Chase shared his proposal plan with Julie while visiting her in prison.
“Chase and I had a hard conversation when he came to visit,” Julie shared. “Just because I’m in prison doesn’t mean my job as a mother stops. When he told me that he wanted to marry Jodi, I was not thrilled.”
Her reason wasn’t completely unfair, though. She didn’t know Jodi. “I can’t be on board with my son marrying someone I don’t even know,” she admitted.
Chase shared Julie’s reservations with Jodi and said Julie wanted to get to know her better when she was released from prison and that she was going to give her a chance. He assured Jodi that she was the one he was choosing, no matter what his family says. He admitted that his family hasn’t always given his partners a fair shot.
