The obituary of Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband is being branded as a massive betrayal.
Brandon Blackstock had a relationship with the Emmy Award-winning Talk Show host over a dozen years ago. By all accounts, their break-up didn’t end well, and apparently, those who wrote Brandon’s obituary haven’t forgotten that. The talent manager died on August 7 of melanoma.
Kelly’s name was notably absent from the obituary. Another person who had a history with Kelly, though, did get a mention.
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock were married

In February 2012, Kelly and Brandon began dating, with the latter working as a talent manager at that time. They got married in October 2013, with Brandon serving as her manager. Together they had two children, a daughter born in 2014 and a son born two years later.
However, in June 2020, the first American Idol winner filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. That divorce didn’t end well for Brandon, with his ex-wife being awarded $2.6 million in commissions he earned as her manager.
Fans were shocked when Brandon’s obituary mentioned his “beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittany Marie Jones,” Radar Online revealed.
Brittany was a one-time employee of Kelly’s. According to her LinkedIn profile, she served as a production assistant for the Grammy Award-winning singer from 2016 to 2018. After that, she became an executive management assistant. She took on that role shortly after Kelly filed for divorce from Brandon. That has fans suspicious about the timing of the career move. Brittany and Brandon didn’t start seeing each other romantically until well after his divorce from Kelly was finalized. “At least that’s Kelly’s story, and she’s sticking to it,” an insider said.
Reports indicate that she wasn’t happy to learn that Brittany’s name was mentioned in her ex-husband’s obituary. “It felt like a betrayal, according to the insider.
Kelly’s residency in Las Vegas was halted after news of Brandon’s illness so that she could be fully present for their two kids. Season 7 of The Kelly Clarkson Show begins next week, with the premiere episode set for September 29.
