The cracks in the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William have only become more jagged as time passes. However, Harry’s relationship with his father, King Charles, seems to have a more positive outlook. Sadly, King Charles and his youngest son had not seen each other since February 2024.
When Prince Harry visited the UK, he visited several charities that are close to his heart. He also visited his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s, grave to mark the third anniversary of her passing. And in a positive step forward, Prince Harry reunited with his father at Clarence House.
An insider claims Prince William was blindsided by Prince Harry and King Charles’ meeting
King Charles and Harry enjoyed afternoon tea and spent just under one hour together. When leaving Clarence House, Harry was asked about his father, who has cancer. “Yes, he’s great, thank you,” Harry stated. Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace confirmed the meeting, noting that King Charles had a “private tea at Clarence House with the Duke of Sussex.”
Reportedly, Prince William wasn’t consulted about the sit-down between his father and estranged brother. “William thought his father was back in London strictly for cancer treatment and official audiences,” a palace source told ShuterScoop. “He had no idea Harry was on the schedule – and certainly wasn’t asked for input.”
A second insider added, “If William had been consulted, he would have tried to block it. That’s why Charles went ahead quietly.” And while Queen Camilla supported her husband’s decision to meet with Harry, a source stated, “She knows how deep the wounds run.” This is a reference to William’s reported anger about the meeting. Meanwhile, a royal expert, Hilary Fordwich, previously speculated that if King Charles met with Prince Harry, it could result in “alienating Prince William.”
