We all have different ways of dealing with grief. One of the most common pieces of advice is to keep busy and try new thing, and it seems Sharon Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne have taken this on board. The mother and daughter have picked up a new hobby while dealing with the loss of Ozzy Osbourne – and it’s definitely unusual.
Sharon Osbourne has taken up falconry with daughter Kelly after Ozzy’s death
Losing a partner of 46 years has to be pretty damn rough. So it’s nice to see Sharon smiling again. Kelly posted a video on Instagram on Thursday showing her mom enjoying a new pursuit – falconry.
In the clip, Kelly tells her mom to stick her hand out. An owl then lands gracefully on her arm.
Kelly wrote in the caption: “Today I introduced my mum to falconry and she loved it!” She also thanked falconry expert Gerard Sulter for “putting a smile on mum’s face.” The Osbourne matriarch then tells the bird: “I don’t have anything to give you!”
Kelly previously shared how the sport is helping her with her own grief.
Since Ozzy’s death in July, Sharon has mostly kept a low profile. Many people commented on how frail she looked at Ozzy’s public funeral procession on July 30.
Kelly has also been largely dealing with her grief privately. But she did thank the family’s supporters in an Instagram story soon after her dad’s funeral. She wrote: “The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life.”
She also noted that while she “will not be OK for a while,” knowing that they are “not alone in our pain makes a difference.”
