Gia Giudice Gives Move Update and Gets Honest About Living at Home

Despite saying she’s ready to move on, Gia Giudice is not quite ready to move on just yet. She admitted that she doesn’t have a solid timeline for when she plans to leave her family’s mansion in Montville, where she lives with her mom, Teresa Giudice of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and her stepfather, Luis Ruelas

The Next Gen NYC star had previously said she was desperate for an easier commute to the Big Apple. Fans thought that meant she was desperate to leave home, but honestly, it just seemed like she didn’t want to have to travel too far for work. Now, she’s sharing that she’s really in no rush to leave home. And it’s not for the reason people think.

Gia Giudice hits back at those saying she lives off mom Teresa’s money

Gia shared on her Casual Chaos podcast that there is no “end date” in sight and that “it’s so nice living at home.” But it’s not because she’s getting a free pass. And as her brand continues to grow, she may have to reevaluate.

“I get scrutinized every single day, and they’re like, ‘Oh, you’re living off mommy’s money, mommy’s paying your bills.’ And I’m like, if only you knew,” Gia shared. She talked about how her care insurance bill comes off her debit card every three months and that she buys things for herself.

However, Teresa and Luis do foot the bill for some things. Teresa and Gia were on the Jeff Lewis show to promote their time together on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. Teresa mentioned she does still pay for Gia’s phone bill while Luis takes care of her health insurance. But at least when Gia shops, she shops with her own money.

Gia did look at apartments in New York before with her longtime boyfriend, Christian Carmichael, and they may explore that further if Next Gen NYC gets picked up for another season.

For now, though, she’s happy staying at home. RHONJ’s Jennifer Aydin also shed some light on the cultural aspect of it on Gia’s IG comments. “In my culture,” Jennifer said. “We stay at home until we get married.” That’s actually true for a lot of foreign cultures.

Next Gen NYC is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
