Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly upset with the royal family over their reaction to Donald Trump’s State Banquet dinner speech. Recently, the President of the United States visited England with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump. The royals gave the couple a warm welcome at the Windsor Castle State Banquet.

During his speech, Trump called Prince William a “remarkable son” of King Charles but didn’t mention Prince Harry anywhere. According to a source, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex felt “betrayed” when the royals entertained the dinner toast.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly not pleased with the royal family. During Donald Trump’s U.K. visit, he gave a speech at the Windsor Castle State Banquet. He showered the monarch’s family with praises and kind words. The president referred to Prince William as King Charles’ “remarkable son” and claimed that he believed the heir would have an “unbelievable success in future.”

This statement caught people’s attention as they pointed out that Trump didn’t mention Harry in his state dinner toast. On top of that, the royals were seemingly entertaining Trump’s remarks. Hence, it didn’t sit well with the Sussex couple. A source told Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop, “It was a dig, no question. Watching the family laugh along felt like betrayal.”

Another insider from California informed that Harry and Markle couldn’t believe the way the royal family behaved around the President of America. “The pomp, the handshakes, the compliments — to them, it looks like bowing down to a man who has openly insulted them for years,” they added.

For those unversed, Trump and the “Suits” alum share a history. The latter had once called the politician “divisive,” while he had also reportedly criticized her and his husband publicly. Allegedly, the 41-year-old prince’s visa was in jeopardy due to the president. Therefore, the ex-royal couple felt “betrayed” witnessing William and others welcoming Trump’s speech in good taste.
