Prince Harry is reportedly pushing for his kids to attend school in the UK, but Meghan Markle is not happy with the idea. While the Duke of Sussex has firmly ruled out sending Archie to his own former school, Eton College, he remains determined that both Archie and Lilibet should experience life and learning in the UK. According to insiders, Harry is adamant, even if the decision causes tensions within the household.
Prince Harry determined to get kids educated in the UK despite rejecting Eton, source claims
An exclusive report by Radar Online highlighted Prince Harry’s desire for his kids to attend school in the UK. The report also noted that this has sparked rifts with Meghan Markle. According to friends of the couple, Harry believes that growing up exclusively in California deprives their children of vital family connections. He also feels it takes away a strong sense of community.
A royal insider told Radar Online, “Harry has ruled out Eton for Archie. His own experience there was uncomfortable, and he doesn’t want his boy to repeat it.” The insider added, “What he is firm about, though, is giving his children some schooling in Britain. He believes they will miss out by being away from their wider family and thinks the U.K. private school system is one of the best in the world.”
However, one source noted Markle’s stance. They claimed, “Meghan sees boarding school as a barbaric idea. She prefers to keep the children close and doesn’t share Harry’s fondness for the British system. That difference is at the heart of their disagreement.”
King Charles is believed to quietly support Harry’s position, seeing the prospect of his grandchildren spending more time in his country as a positive step. Moreover, singer Joss Stone, who reunited with Harry during the WellChild Awards in London earlier this month, recalled how the duke praised UK schools during their conversation. She told Hello! Magazine, “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children.”
While no decision is imminent, insiders say Prince Harry has considered sending his kids to a UK-based school. However, it is a compromise that sets the stage for more difficult conversations with Meghan Markle. The couple now faces the challenge of weighing family life across the two nations.
