William Shatner suffered a scary situation at his home on Wednesday.
The legendary Montreal-born actor had a medical emergency after falling in his Los Angeles home. The Canadian, who remains actively involved in movies and TV shows, reprised his iconic role of James T. Kirk on the big screen last year in the film Star Trek: Unification. William is 94 years old.
Star Trek’s Captain Kirk had a blood sugar situation

While emergencies are always cause for alarm, everything is okay with William. The man who played Captain Kirk on Star Trek only called the emergency medical services as a precaution.
According to William’s agent, Harry Gold, the Emmy Award winner experienced an issue with his blood sugar, causing him to fall. “He’s fine,” Gold told TMZ.
Throughout his lengthy career in the spotlight, William has had his share of medical issues. He has a hearing disorder known as tinnitus, which can be triggered by loud noises. In 2020, he revealed that he suffers from swollen joints and aches and pains due to his age. He treats that issue with cannabidiol, a supplement extracted from Cannabis. In March of 2024, he said he’d been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. It’s an advanced and aggressive form of skin cancer that spreads to other parts of the body.
His age and health issues didn’t deter him from having a unique experience a few years ago. William floated inside Blue Origin’s space capsule with fellow astronauts on his trip to space, the final frontier, in 2021. He called it a profound experience.
Earlier this month, he revealed that he would be heading to the Galapagos Islands for a Space 2 Sea convention. In 2017, he famously had a social media feud with Dancing with the Stars contestant Nick Viall, urging fans to get him ousted. He appeared on The Dr. Oz Show earlier this year, sharing tips on how to maintain happiness, health, and an active lifestyle.
