The sacrifices one makes for being on Dancing with the Stars aren’t always physically quantifiable. Along with the physical toll it takes on your body, there’s also the mental toll of the competition and the fact that you have to be away from your family for an extended period of time. This is something Hilaria Baldwin and Alec Baldwin are now experiencing as she goes further into the competition.
Everyone is getting into the thick of it. On the heels of last week’s double elimination that saw Corey Feldman and Baron Davis go home, the stakes are rising, and the dancers have to put their all in. And while Hilaria is doing a good job so far, Alec is still allegedly figuring out how to take care of everything in her absence.

This isn’t to say Alec isn’t supportive of his wife dancing her heart out. He’s been very supportive of her being on DWTS. The couple posted several cheeky and fun videos prior to the start of the competition. The actor even mentioned being in the audience and cheering her on all the way.
However, according to RadarOnline, a source claims that logistics make it impossible for the couple to be together throughout the entire competition. Since the dance competition shoots in LA and the couple live on the East Coast with their young children, it’s not feasible for Alec to be there the entire time.
According to the source, it’s impractical for the “cash-strapped” pair to make a full-time move just for Hilaria’s time on DWTS. This isn’t the first time a source has mentioned the couple has financial issues. Previously, someone said Alec put his family on reality TV in order to pay legal costs from the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Rust set.
The source continues to say that allegedly Alec is “tearing his hair out” at being in charge of the kids. The fact that he’ll be up to his eyeballs in daddy duty freaks him out.
But it’s a double-edged sword. The longer he’d have to solo parent, the longer Hilaria continues in the competition. And for now though, based on Hilaria’s IG it looks like the kids are with both mom and dad in LA despite what sources claim.
Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It streams on Hulu the next day.
