Scheana Shay is reportedly out from The Valley Season 3 and, hot take, this might be a mistake. It’s no secret that fans of The Valley protested Scheana and Lala Kent joining the cast full time. There was already a huge amount of backlash when they just made cameos in Season 1 and 2. Now, their wish came half true, as Lala joined but Scheana reportedly hasn’t filmed. But this comes as Scheana is as talked-about as ever, amidst several feuds. If another Vanderpump Rules alum had to join The Valley, was Scheana the best bet? And what might be the missed opportunities now that she’s out?
Why was Scheana Shay reportedly cut from The Valley Season 3?
After Season 2 wrapped and with Jax Taylor let go, Scheana seemed all but confirmed to join The Valley. But a lot can change in a few months. As The Valley Season 3 began production, the cast started posting BTS snaps on social media. And fans noticed that Scheana wasn’t at these major filming events. Then Zack Wickham posted a picture of the cast trip with the caption, “gang’s all here.” Notably, Scheana was absent. After Zack’s post, Reality TV newsfluencer Up and Adam reported that Scheana hadn’t filmed at all.
According to the podcast Cocktails and Gossip, Scheana was cut as a consequence for her book My Good Side. Reportedly, producers also weren’t happy with what Scheana wrote about them. They felt that Scheana “threw production under the bus.” In her book and on the press tour, Scheana also had harsh words for Lisa Vanderpump, who is a producer on The Valley.
Cocktails and Gossip speculated that Scheana’s feud with Lala was partially an attempt at creating a storyline, and an actual feud over Lala “taking her spot.”
There was also speculation that Scheana got cut because she covered up Brock Davies’ affair. However, Tom Schwartz, who famously covered up an affair during Scandoval by creating a fake showmance with Rachel Leviss, has filmed for The Valley Season 3.
Why removing Scheana from The Valley might be a mistake
In the comments section of Up and Adam’s post, most fans were happy that Scheana isn’t filming The Valley. Many took this news as proof she burned her bridges at Bravo. Others commented that they still aren’t happy Lala is filming. Commenters seemed more on board with Schwartz, so I guess his baby voice schtick still works on some people.
However, not filming Scheana for the upcoming season seems like a big missed opportunity for multiple reasons. Like her or not, she can create some compelling reality TV!
Removing Scheana from The Valley is a missed opportunity to explore Brock’s affair
First of all, it’s surprising that producers wouldn’t want to follow up with Scheana’s shocking admission that Brock cheated on her when she was pregnant. According to Scheana, he came clean after Scandoval, but she hid it from everyone while filming VPR Season 11. Even Lala didn’t know until before the book came out.
Brock’s affair is a storyline tailor made for The Valley. After all, marriage woes are that show’s bread and butter. The Valley would also provide the chance for some cast members to confront Scheana about hiding this information during VPR Season 11.
Scheana has the most organic connections within The Valley cast
Back when Scheana seemed like a done deal for The Valley Season 3, producers claimed it was difficult not to include her in the show. That’s because Scheana is actually friends with the cast, and is frequently around them even when she’s not filming.
In Season 2, for instance, Scheana factored into a storyline with Jesse Lally’s girlfriend Lacy Nicole. She made a phone cameo to inform him about the rumors that Lacy was seeing “the guy from Baywatch.”
Scheana’s name also came up a lot last season amidst Kristen Doute’s feud with Janet Caperna. Kristen recalled that Scheana introduced Janet the group “as a fan.” There were also rumors that Janet specifically sought Scheana out to form a friendship because she loved VPR.
This will surely get rehashed in Season 3. And it will be odd not to have Scheana there to give her side.
Scheana has multiple high profile Bravo feuds
While she won’t be on The Valley Season 3, Scheana is more talked about now than ever. That’s because she currently has multiple high profile feuds in the Bravosphere.
Currently, Scheana is going toe to toe with Real Housewives of Orange County’s Tamra Judge. The two Bravo stars are throwing lots of shade at one another on and off social media. Scheana’s name came up a lot amidst the RHOC Season 19 drama. Tamra also claims Scheana is trying to get on RHOC.
When Tamra said she hopes to avoid Scheana at BravoCon, another Real Housewives star agreed. Real Housewives of Miami’s Adriana de Moura also blames Scheana for getting in the way of her romance with Captain Jason Chambers.
While some speculate that Scheana’s feud with Lala started as a storyline for The Valley, it is very real right now. Instead of seeing it play out on The Valley, viewers will have to catch the back and forth by listening to Scheana and Lala address it on their podcasts.
All these overlapping feuds make one thing very clear. Like it or not, even if she’s not on The Valley, Scheana will continue to be a big name in the Bravo world.
