New network, new couples, same messy drama! We’ve just got our first look at Married at First Sight Season 19, which is set to premiere later this month on its new home on Peacock. Five new couples from Austin, Texas, will embark on the experiment, but will any of them actually wind up married?
Married at First Sight is headed to Peacock for Season 19
After years and years of airing on Lifetime, Peacock acquired the dating series for Season 19. Created by the same controversial production company that makes Netflix’s Love is Blind, the trailer shows that although the series has a new home, it’s still dealing with the same old messy relationship drama.
“I’m committing my life to someone I know nothing about, but I trust the experts to find something that I’m not finding,” one of the wives says in the trailer.
From there, we get a sneak peek at the couples exchanging vows and saying, “I do.” One of them even says that they’re already falling in love. Famous last words. Fifteen seconds later, the trailer shows everything going to hell for some of the couples. There are a lot of tears, and historically, most of these couples aren’t going to make it.
“Marriages are just like life; everything can be flipped upside down in a day,” one of the husbands nonchalantly explains.
The big bombshell in the trailer arrived when one of the brides revealed that she’s pregnant. It’s unclear if the pregnancy happened before or after the marriage at first sight, but we’ll be perched in front of a TV to find out.
With MAFS venturing from cable to streaming, that also means that the season is going to air a little bit differently than usual. Instead of weekly episodes, Peacock will drop the season in batches, with several episodes coming out at once. Here’s how it will play out, so you can mark your calendars accordingly.
- October 23: Episodes 1,2, 3, 4
- October 30: Episodes 5, 6, 7
- November 6: Episodes 8, 9, 10
- November 13: Episodes 11, 12
- November 20: Finale + Reunion
Married at First Sight Season 19 premieres on Peacock on Thursday, October 23.
