Over the years, we seem to have seen less and less of Southern Charm star Whitney Sudler-Smith. What you might not know is that not only is Whitney a star of the show, but he’s also the creator and executive producer. Whitney and perennial trustafarian Shep Rose used to be close friends, but are they still close?
Apparently, the answer is yes, because Whitney and Shep just celebrated the end of Shep’s birthday month with a trip to the UK. Even though Shep’s ex, Taylor Ann Green, attempted to drive a wedge between them at one point, Whitney and Shep are still buddies.
Shep Rose and Whitney Sudler-Smith enjoyed a “wondrous lunch” together
On September 30, Whitney shared a photo of himself and Shep outside an exclusive gentlemen’s club in St James. “Wonderous lunch at venerable ‘White’s,’” he captioned the post.
The Oxford University alum and Shep were accompanied to lunch by a couple of Whitney’s posh British friends, Alex Brunner and “legend” Lord Robert Hanson.
Following their lunch, the pair attended the Chelsea vs. Benfica soccer game at the Stamford Bridge stadium. Shep’s been a fan of the Chelsea Blues since his days as a real estate agent in the United Arab Emirates.
“I’m a Chelsea fan from way back,” Shep told Bravo’s Daily Dish. “When I lived in Dubai, my friend was a huge Chelsea fan. He’s a Brit. So, here I am carrying on the tradition. Very excited.”
Back in 2018, Whitney reflected on the pair’s long friendship in an episode of Bravo’s Southern Charm After Show. “Shep and I [both] feel a compulsion to be a bit shocking,” Whitney shared, “which I think is our charm or downfall, however you want to look at it. But we have fun because there’s nothing he and I can say or do that will offend the other person … We find humor in each other’s actions.”
“Just add alcohol and watch us ruin everything,” Shep added. “Whitney is very knowledgeable, very bright. He’s actually too smart for his own good sometimes.”
