Plot twist! As rumors swirl that Scheana Shay got skipped over for Season 3 of The Valley, the former Vanderpump Rules star has set the record straight. According to her, she was asked to be a part of the show, but she turned down the offer.
Of course, we know you just read that last sentence and rolled your eyes so hard that you’re dizzy. But Scheana’s explanation here is legit. The Valley’s executive producer even confirmed it.

Scheana addressed the Season 3 casting rumors during the October 3 episode of her podcast, Scheananigans. Joined by Alex Baskin, the executive producer of The Valley, Scheana confessed that she won’t be on the show, per her decision.
“For anyone hoping that I would be joining the cast, I am sorry to disappoint you this season,” Scheana began. “For those who were very vocal about not wanting me to join the show, don’t worry. I’m sure I will find some other ways to disappoint you, so stay tuned.”
From there, Alex confirmed that there were “serious conversations” about having Scheana join The Valley. He said his team made a “compelling offer” that she ultimately declined, something he noted was a rarity for reality stars.
According to Scheana, she sat on the offer for a little bit, but a few things were holding her back. First of all, she definitely saw your memes comparing her to a girl who graduates but still goes to the high school parties. She also started to contemplate if more reality TV felt like the right path for her.
Scheana asked herself, “Is this the right next step for me in my career? Post-book, post-Vanderpump Rules, is it the fresh start I’m looking for? Or is it a continuation of what I’ve been doing all along?”
Scheana said she looked to other Bravolebrities who recently left their shows for inspiration, like Garcelle Beauvais and Paige DeSorbo. She actually reached out to Paige, and the two had a lengthy conversation about her decision to leave Summer House. Scheana said she felt moved by that conversation and decided to follow in Paige’s footsteps.
Thus, Scheana turned down The Valley, but she reiterated multiple times that she felt “grateful” for the platform. She also didn’t rule out joining the show in the future. Now just isn’t the right time.
Scheana explained, “I feel like I want to find my purpose on reality TV. I don’t want my purpose to be reality TV.”
The Valley is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
