It’s Taylor Swift’s glittery world, and we are all just living in it. The songstress delighted her fans by dropping her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, last week. Taylor wrote the 12-track album while on the European stint of The Eras Tour.

Plus, she was falling in love with her boyfriend, and now fiancé, Travis Kelce. This exciting time in the pop superstar’s life is reflected in the mostly upbeat tracks on her newest offering. Of course, Swifties know that with every new album, Taylor embraces a new era and persona.

She gave us plenty of hints when she shared that The Life of a Showgirl was on its way. Taylor announced her new album on the New Heights podcast in August, which Travis hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce. And when she showed off the album cover, Swifties already had a hint about what the aesthetic for Taylor’s The Life of a Showgirl would be. And we love it!

The album cover featured Taylor reclining in a pool of green water. She was wearing a bejeweled, sexy swimsuit with matching shiny, silver bracelets. The title of the album featured glittery, orange type. And, spoiler alert, as part of an album pack, Taylor included a glittery orange cardigan.

So, both orange and glitter are key parts of Taylor’s aesthetic for this album. Of course, Taylor dropped a major clue for Swifties when she closed out The Eras Tour by exiting through an orange door. Other artwork for the album featured Taylor in orange showgirl attire, including an orange, feathered headpiece with a crown covered with rhinestones and a skimpy, silvery rhinestone top. I sense a theme!

Since Taylor always meticulously plans out every part of her visuals and music, it is safe to assume that green also plays a part in Taylor’s aesthetic for this album. Since it is featured on the album cover, it must be key to Taylor’s newest era.

In addition, the overall theme of the album seems to hint at life behind the curtain for female entertainers, or showgirls. Taylor also alluded to the burdens that they carry behind their smiles. Overall, it is a bold, sexy new version of Taylor, and I am here for it!

Each of Taylor’s albums has featured its own aesthetic. Her 2006 debut album showcased her country roots. Taylor wrote the album when she was in high school, and she wore her hair in long curls and sported cowboy boots. As the years went on, Taylor began to experiment with her look, slowly going more glam. She also started writing more pop music.

When Taylor released Red in 2012, she began the final transition from country music to pop. She also embraced a vintage-inspired look, with high-waisted shorts, bowler hats, and her now signature red lipstick. Meanwhile, Taylor released Reputation one year after she feuded with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. And she also unleashed a brand-new Taylor. The main theme was snakes, and Taylor wore black, especially bodysuits. Plus, she didn’t hold back in calling out the duo in song. And I loved her fierce new persona.

However, her next album, Lover, showcased a love for pastel colors and beautiful butterflies. For Folklore, penned during the COVID pandemic, Taylor featured a simple, stripped-down aesthetic inspired by the woods and romanticism. Later, Taylor was back to a more somber tone with the release of The Tortured Poets Department in 2024. The aesthetic was all about black and white, with costumes featuring chokers and a vintage vibe.

Taylor’s new trends will likely focus heavily on her showgirl aesthetic. In her artwork for the album, Taylor dropped some stunning and super sexy photos showing off the look. Swifties, get ready to give your inner showgirl some love. And lots and lots of glitter!

The 1950s Las Vegas-style feel includes lots of sequins and rhinestones. I think that fishnet stockings will be part of the essential Taylor look. Plus, I think we can expect to see feather boas, sparkly tiaras, and headpieces.

Of course, we all know that the hue of the moment for Swifties is orange, and it had better be sparkly. So, if you don’t want to stroll to dinner sporting a feathered headdress and boa, you can probably get by with a bright-orange, sequined top.

Taylor also wore a corset paired with long gloves and knee-high boots, so those accessories will no doubt be in the mix. This new era for Taylor is actually fun, fresh, and naughty. There is a lot for Taylor’s fans to play with when it comes to fashion.

And, Honey, it’s easy to embrace Taylor’s new aesthetic, whether by wearing long gloves, a rhinestone-studded choker, or a feathery scarf. So, let your inner showgirl out to play, and embrace Taylor’s newest persona.
