Recently, on The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, star Savannah Chrisley spoke candidly about her fractured relationship with various family members. On this, her father, Todd Chrisley, feels disappointed. Sometimes, privacy is key, he believes. Even still, this former Chrisley Knows Best star did agree to film another reality television series. So, what did he expect?
Nevertheless, as Savannah explained, she felt abandoned by her grandfather, Harvey. “I have struggled to see eye to eye with my Papa Harvey my entire life,” Savannah revealed. Instead, “Chase [Chrisley] has always been his chosen child,” she noted. Thankfully, by Episode 4, Savannah and Harvey were in a much better place, but Todd still feels strongly about how this whole mess became a storyline on their new series.
Todd Chrisley thinks Savannah should have dealt with family issues off-camera
Todd spoke about this matter during the October 1 episode of his podcast, Chrisley Confessions 2.0. Here, he noted that the drama between Savannah and her grandfather, Harvey, was a private matter. I feel like, [in] some situations, less is more, right?” Todd asked.
“If you want to call him out for, you know, not being there for you and not being the grandfather that he should have been, then that [could] have been done off-air,” Todd explained. However, Todd does agree that Harvey favored Chase.
Turning to his wife, Julie Chrisley, Todd said, “It really has been that way her whole life. And so I think that’s accumulated from childhood, because, let’s face it, your dad is not [known] for building women up. Your dad is from a whole different generation.”
Julie hates this battle, “Because that is my dad, and that is my daughter.” But Julie still hopes “that they can find [peace] because that is her grandfather, that is his granddaughter. I have truly been in prayer over it,” she stressed.
Regardless, Julie acknowledges that Savannah has valid opinions on this matter.
