Real Housewives of Miami Alum Todd Nepola Files $11 Million Lawsuit Against Bravo

Just when you thought the tea on Real Housewives of Miami couldn’t get anymore scalding, Alexia Nepola’s ex Todd Nepola, is coming in hot with an $11 million lawsuit against Bravo and NBCUniversal for allegedly falsely portraying him as having financial issues. He is taking the network to court claiming they lied about his finances to create more exciting storylines for his wife in Season 6 and 7.

However, this isn’t a complete shocker. In August, Todd uploaded a 10-minute video to Instagram slamming the producers of RHOM. In it, he called them out for his representation on the show and for allowing micro-aggressions to continue against several of the cast members. He was already angry back then. A lawsuit is the natural next step.

In the lawsuit, Todd, who has claimed to be worth approximately $100 million, says he was misrepresented. He claimed that he has never bounced a check or missed payments. But the show painted it differently to create a better storyline.

The filing claimed, “Bravo’s hit franchise crossed the line between entertainment and defamation, using manipulated storylines and unauthorized footage to falsely portray Todd as facing financial distress.”

The suit highlights multiple times Adriana de Moura supposedly spread false claims, saying Todd’s business was suffering, or he may have to break his lease and downgrade his apartment. The suit claims Bravo knew this was untrue and allowed it anyway.

Todd also said that Bravo and NBCU used his image and personal storyline without his consent, manufacturing defamatory content to drive ratings. It stated, “Mr. Nepola wanted to be Alexia’s husband, not her storyline. Enough is enough.”

Todd is seeking $10 million in damages for defamation and $1 million for unauthorized use of his name and likeness. Additionally, he is seeking injunctive relief to prevent further misuse of or rebroadcast of his image.

This is not the first time reality TV participants sued the producer and network. It’s not even the first this year. As of August, Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Brit Eady is also suing Bravo for $20 million after the explicit photo scandal.

Bravo and NBCUniversal have not responded yet.

The Real Housewives of Miami airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
