Channing Tatum talks about Jax Taylor’s roommate claims
Channing Tatum addressed Jax Taylor’s longtime claim that they were once roommates.
During an Oct. 6 appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, The Blink Twice actor, 45, responded to Taylor’s repeated story, which dates back to 2013, about the two living together in a New York model apartment in the early 2000s. “Absolutely not,” Tatum said. “I don’t think I ever roommated with him.”
The actor explained that during his early career, he lived with several models but did not recall Taylor being among them. “They’ll throw you in a model house that has just like a bed,” Tatum said. “I got kicked out of my first model house. I got in a fight with one of the guys.” Taylor, 46, has not yet responded to Tatum’s version of events.
Taylor originally shared the story on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2013 and repeated it in a 2023 Rolling Stone interview. He claimed the two met when he moved from Miami to New York in 2002 after signing with Ford Models. “Those agencies had apartments for models that were coming into town. They’re basically like dorm rooms with bunk beds,” he said. “Channing was one of six guys in our room.”
According to Taylor, Tatum “got famous real quick” after booking a Mountain Dew commercial that launched his on-camera career. Taylor, who appeared on The Valley after Vanderpump Rules, announced in July that he would not return for Season 3, citing a focus on “sobriety, mental health, and co-parenting” his son, Cruz, 4, with ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright.
Tatum is currently promoting Roofman, opening Oct. 10, and will reprise his role as Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday, set for release on Dec. 18, 2026.
