After withdrawing from Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test in Episode 2, Teresa Giudice is clapping back at fans who feel like she abandoned her daughter, Gia Giudice.
In case you missed it, Teresa bowed out of the show to avoid seeing Gia participate in a “milling” challenge, where she and soccer player Christie Pearce Rampone had to punch each other repeatedly. Teresa said she couldn’t stomach seeing her daughter in that situation, and today, she has zero regrets about leaving.
Teresa Giudice opens up on leaving Special Forces and Gia behind…
In an interview with TooFab, Teresa justified her Special Forces exit and made it clear that she wouldn’t have done anything differently if she had a second chance.
“I’m always a mom first,” the Real Housewives of New Jersey star explained. “I’m always thinking about my kids. I would have definitely stepped in if I saw anybody punching my child, and I didn’t want to show her that, and I didn’t want her to see me fighting either.
She continued, “I just didn’t like that challenge. The whole hitting. I wouldn’t be able to sit there and watch my child get hit.”
When addressing the feedback from fans who claim she “abandoned” her daughter by quitting so early, Teresa said she doesn’t see it that way. More importantly, neither does Gia.
“I have not abandoned my daughter,” Teresa added. “My daughter knows I did not abandon her, and we both understand each other. She knows why I left. I would never be able to stand to see that. I knew she was going to be just fine.”
While Gia continues through with the challenge, Teresa said she’s been watching from home, “yelling” at the TV anytime Gia encounters danger. Eventually, Teresa even watched the milling challenge — even though she couldn’t bear seeing it in person.
“I was like, ‘My poor baby,'” Teresa recalled of her reaction to the scene. “But she did amazing. She did great. She did amazing, and I know my child, she’s very strong. I raised her that way.”
Tre continued, “I just wouldn’t be able to see her get hit because I would definitely have to step in. Then I knew that would not be good, the DSes would not have liked that so much. So it was better me to leave the proper way and say, ‘Peace out!'”
Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test airs on Fox on Thursdays at 9/8c.
