David Del Rio’s wife, Katherine, seemingly responded to sexual assault allegations from the set of Matlock. She did so by attacking her husband’s Matlock (now former) co-star, Leah Lewis, online. David was fired from the CBS series on Thursday, October 9. The network and David have not yet commented on the alleged assault or termination.
David Del Rio has been fired from CBS show Matlock after a sexual assault allegation and investigation

The social media back and forth began after Leah posted a photo where she’s hugging her mom on Instagram. She wrote, “We’re moving forward in love and strength. I’m in good hands. Thank you to everybody for any kind of support and care. Truly, we’re moving forward in strength. Key word, strength. Let that be the takeaway.”
That night, Katherine responded to the post in a now deleted Instagram Story. Adjacent to a closeup photo of Leah’s cropped face she wrote, “This is the most disturbing human being I have ever met,” Us Weekly reports.
Katherine shared a second post on her Instagram Story, which also has since been deleted. Next to a photo of her hugging her mom, emulating Leah’s photo, Katherine wrote, “Mom is here. We’re moving forward in love and strength after what Leah did to our family. Thank you all for the love and support!”
The Del Rios, married since April 2018, have two daughters — Lilia, 2, and Coco, born in March of this year.
Deadline reported that the alleged incident occurred on September 26 and was reported to CBS on October 2. After an internal investigation, David was immediately dismissed and escorted off the lot.
David’s character, Billy Martinez, will be written off the series immediately. However, because the first half of Season 2 is completed, it’s unclear if his character will appear when Matlock premieres on October 12.
