In a recent interview, Kevin Federline talked about how the night before their wedding, Britney Spears talked to Justin Timberlake, whom she had dated for three years. The dancer revealed that they were at one of the bungalows at Fairmont in Santa Monica when he saw the pop sensation talking to someone on the phone.
He said, “I was like, ‘What’s wrong?’ I thought she was talking to her mom on the phone or something, and maybe she was having doubts.” Then, he added that she told him that she was on a call with Timberlake. He stated, “And I just kind of stepped back like ‘Did I just hear you right? What the hell is going on?’”
The 47-year-old mentioned that he wanted to make sure that Spears wasn’t under any pressure. He also “didn’t care” if they got married or not, if she was having any doubts. The “Hold Me Closer” singer told him that that wasn’t the case.
Federline said that Spears explained that she “just wanted to make sure that everything is done.” She just wanted to say her “final piece” to Timberlake. However, he was shocked that she would do this on the night before their wedding.
Explaining what he felt then, he said, “So I kind of at the time took it with a grain of salt and took her explanation as maybe okay she is closing a chapter of her life.” He said, “I was super young. I was so madly in love at that moment.”
The interviewer then asked him if he thought she was still in love with her ex. Federline explained that he wasn’t sure if she was “in love.” However, he believed that she was definitely “not over it.”
He further added, “There was so much turmoil, so much different, you know.” Federline continued, “I couldn’t imagine what it was like to be her, I couldn’t imagine what it was like to be Justin in those moments, because they were super young.”
