Nicki Minaj is reportedly facing a new legal issue with her home, connected to a 2019 assault case that involves her husband, Kenneth Petty. According to court documents, security guard Thomas Weidenmüller has asked a judge to force the sale of Minaj’s $20 million Hidden Hills, California, mansion to satisfy an unpaid judgment of more than $500,000. If approved, the move could put one of the rapper’s most valuable assets on the market.
Nicki Minaj’s home is reportedly at risk as husband’s patch resurfaces
According to Page Six, Nicki Minaj’s home could go on the market. The tabloid reviewed the court documents, revealing that Weidenmüller won a default judgment of $503,318 over injuries he said he sustained when Kenneth Petty allegedly punched him backstage at Minaj’s 2019 concert in Germany.
Patty claimed he required eight surgeries and five plates in his jaw after the attack. Moreover, the new filing argues that Minaj and Petty have failed to pay the debt, requesting the court look into the equity of the rapper’s home.
The paperwork states, “The property’s current fair market value is appraised at $20 million, yielding approximately $6 million in equity beyond the lien and exemption.” It adds that a sale “would satisfy the entire judgment, with millions to spare.”
Furthermore, the filing highlights Minaj’s financial capacity. It said, “There is little doubt that she is highly capable of paying the judgment in full and, yet, she has refused to do so despite multiple written requests for payment and levies served upon several of her suspected creditors. [Weidenmüller] should not have to wait any longer.”
The incident traces back to a night when Minaj allegedly scolded a female guard after a fan got onstage. Weidenmüller claimed that when he intervened, Petty punched him.
Overall, if a judge grants the request, Nicki Minaj could lose her Los Angeles home to cover the judgment and legal costs. Minaj has not publicly commented on the new filing.
