As so many of the cast pointed out this week, Dancing with the Stars is already more than halfway through Season 34. Just like the rest of us, DWTS alums Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are already arguing about who the winner could be.
As far as Peta’s concerned, she thinks one dancer has it practically in the bag, as much for his likable personality as his dancing skills. But her Season 18 Mirrorball Trophy-winning husband disagrees. For his part, Maks thinks the votes will be split among three dancers due to the TikTok of it all.
Who do Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd think will win Dancing with the Stars 2025?
“I have hands down Robert Irwin and Witney [Carson],” Peta told Us Weekly on October 21. “One thousand percent. I’m not saying he’s the most technical dancer. Whitney Leavitt for me is the best dancer of the season by far. She is absolutely phenomenal. But I believe Robert Irwin is going to win.”
I said the same thing on night one, but the voters could surprise me. Not only is Robert a natural dancer, but he’s just so darn likable. He definitely inherited his father Steve Irwin’s energy and charisma.
The two-time Mirrorball Trophy winner added that Robert has that “all-rounder aspect,” making him a threat to the other competitors. “People just seem to really gravitate towards him and he’s so kind,” she continued. “People honestly just want more Robert Irwins in the world.”
However, Maks isn’t as sure of the winner as his wife seems to be. “I think it’s going to be a battle between Robert and Whitney, [but in the end, Maks’ brother] Val [Chmerkovskiy] and Alix [Earle] are going to take it,” he predicted. “There’s also a huge TikTok component … You have some core fans of Dancing with the Stars, but there’s also been a very big impact of TikTok fans.”
With her high judges’ scores and more than 7.7 million TikTok followers, Alix keeps creeping up the leader board. In fact, pretty much everyone is improving from week to week. Even lovable Andy Richter is still there! He may not be getting the highest scores from the judges, but his fans are keeping him in the competition.
