Has Love Is Blind run its course? Plenty of fans seem to think so after the Colorado-based Season 9. The finale aired last night, and the handful of people who watched it immediately took to social media to express their frustrations. They think it’s time to shut down this “experiment” once and for all.
Love Is Blind Season 9 was not a hit with viewers
When Love Is Blind first premiered, it quickly became Netflix’s biggest reality TV show. The couples that formed in the pods felt somewhat believable, but with every season, we’ve strayed further away from those days of innocence.
The success rate on this show gets worse and worse every season. Spoiler alert, but at the end of Season 9, not a single couple got married. That’s a first, and fans didn’t love it. Just check the comments on the post above. They’re wild, and the reactions on Twitter/X weren’t any better.
“Nobody got married this season! Love is not blind! Can we cancel this show now? #LoveIsBlind,” complained one fan, quickly gaining thousands of likes.
Another fan wrote, “So we can all agree that Love is Blind is heavily scripted and that none of these people are in it for love but just for the clout right? The show lost its essence after season one. #LoveIsBlindS9”
One person said the season felt like a “colossal waste of time” because of the lack of marriages in the end. Some people were even tagging Netflix, asking for a refund on their subscription fee.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Love is Blind has suffered viewer backlash. For years, fans have asked Netflix to replace Nick Lachey and his co-host/wife, Vanessa Lachey. On top of that, numerous cast members have called out the production company about their behind-the-scenes treatment.
In a world where Love Island dominates the summer, plenty of fans think it’s time for Netflix to hang up the towel on this show. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s not happening.
Netflix already renewed the show through Season 10. That means Netflix and the Lacheys have at least one more shot to redeem this franchise.
Love Is Blind is streaming on Netflix.
