Meghan Markle’s director of communications has left after four short months on the job. Emily Robinson joined the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s staff in late May. She previously worked as senior director of publicity at Netflix.
Emily is one of many staffers in the couple’s communication department who have decided to leave in the last few years.
Meghan Markle’s director of communications has left her role after just a few months

A spokesman for the royals said, “Ms. Robinson oversaw project-based work for a very successful season of With Love, Meghan and additional support for the production company. She did an excellent job and completed these projects with great success,” according to People magazine.
Meghan and Prince Harry have experienced a number of staff changes since 2020, when they moved from the UK to California. Both deputy press secretary Kyle Boulia in Los Angeles and Charlie Gipson, their UK press officer, worked for the couple for a year. In 2024, Ashley Hansen, formerly the pair’s global press secretary and head of communications, left to start her own communications company.
Remaining on the team are Liam Maguire, director of communications in Europe, and Meredith Maines, chief communications officer. In addition, former publicists James Holt and Miranda Bardot were promoted and are no longer part of the PR team.
Meghan is no stranger to controversy. During Paris Fashion Week, the former actor received backlash after sharing an Instagram video showing her riding through the city. Many complained this was insensitive, as it appeared she was riding by the Pont de l’Alma tunnel. This was where Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, died in a car crash in 1997.
“Harry was left hurt and upset. Diana’s death was used as a stick to beat his wife with. [Meghan] did not even pass close to the tunnel. The whole thing is a joke, but not a very funny one for Harry,” according to the Daily Mail.
Meghan reactivated her Instagram account earlier this year. In addition to promoting her As Ever brand, the Duchess has posted her family, including son Prince Archie, 6, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 4.
