The fallout from Prince Andrew’s alleged association with Jeffrey Epstein is continuing to make headlines. In 2019, Andrew removed himself from public life amid the scandal. In 2022, his mother, Queen Elizabeth, took away his patronages and his military titles.
Last week, Andrew voluntarily relinquished the title The Duke of York, along with the prestigious Order of the Garter. In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew stated, “With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me.”
Prince Andrew’s coat of arms being removed is shocking as it’s usually only done for traitors and rebels

Meanwhile, Congressman Stephen Lynch of the United States expressed interest in speaking with Prince Andrew about his involvement with Epstein and Virginia Giuffre, who detailed disturbing sexual abuse allegations against Andrew in her memoir, which was released posthumously.
Now, Prince Andrew has suffered another blow to his tattered dignity. The Sun reported that Andrew’s banner, which displayed his coat of arms, has been removed. The banner had been located next to Prince William’s banner in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. When Prince Andrew became a member of the Knight of the Order of the Garter in 2006, his banner was displayed.
So, why all the fuss about the banner’s removal? This event usually only occurs in cases of taking up arms against the Crown or high treason. Yikes!
“It was removed at the most convenient moment,” a source claimed. Andrew’s banner depicted the harp of Ireland, the three lions of England, Scotland’s lion rampant, and an anchor as a nod to Andrew’s career in the Navy.
The removal of Andrew’s banner follows an update to Royal.UK, the royal family’s official website. King Charles’ brother is now referred to as Prince Andrew instead of the Duke of York.
