Thoughts and prayers are out to Lisa Vanderpump and her family. Sam Vanderpump, Lisa’s nephew who made his reality TV debut on Made In Chelsea, has announced that he has late-stage liver disease. The outlook on his diagnosis is grim, and he opened up about it during the latest episode of the show.
Sam Vanderpump, nephew to LVP, revealed his shocking diagnosis

In December 2024, Sam spent a week in the hospital after a case of the flu evolved into a serious case of sepsis. His organs began failing, with the situation exacerbated by a genetic kidney and liver condition.
Although Sam recovered from the sepsis, he revealed on Made in Chelsea that his liver is still in bad shape. Without a transplant, he could die in the next four to five years. The shocking conversation happened during the Monday, October 27 episode.
“We had a call from the doctors and I’ve got end-stage liver disease,” Sam told his co-star, Ollie Locke.
“There is no hope of my liver getting better, and he said, ‘I wouldn’t be having this call with you if I thought you could make it through the next four or five years.’ They’re sending me for a liver transplant assessment,” he continued.
Despite the scary diagnosis, the 28-year-old reality star seemed optimistic. He told Ollie that he feels healthy and will hold out until the day he gets the call about a liver transplant.
“The way I look at it, I’m healthy now,” Sam explained. “Hopefully I remain healthy all the way up until one day [when] they’ll give me a call, and I’ll go in for a surgery. And then I wake up and I’ll be healthier.”
Although Sam seems in good spirits following his diagnosis, the news couldn’t have arrived at a more inopportune time. Just last month, he and his fiancée announced that they’re expecting their first child together. Sam popped the question to her in March, and he said his health scare brought them closer together.
With all of that in mind, we’re keeping Sam and his family in our thoughts. Here’s to hoping that the transplant arrives sooner rather than later.
Made in Chelsea airs on E4 in the UK.
